Spectacles Silver Wearable Stamped Antique Oval 1880's Turn Pin Legs Drop Loop Finials Eyeglasses Reenactment Large Sterling Coin As NEW
€325.00
In great and tight condition and therefore WEARABLE: silver stamped pair of antique hand crafted spectacles from around the 1870's. The size is quite large for its time, and therefore suitable for modern use.
I estimate that the frame was made between 1860 to 1890 given the design with turn pin legs, drop loop finials and an X-bridge. The condition is fantastic, the little patina can be polished off easily. The original case is included.
The frame is fitted with reading lenses of appr. +3 diopter and can sure be replaced with your own prescription.
See the pictures for the stamps: small ones on the nose bridge and close to the loop finials, and close to the hinges are the bigger maker marks. I did not want to polish and clean the stamps.
This frame is completely original and functional and can even be used today either on a daily basis or for e.g. reenactment gatherings.
Dimensions:
Lens width is 36mm, height is 25mm
Distance between lenses is 31mm
